Prime Minister of Italy Gioggia Meloni has announced that she will nominate her candidacy for the June elections to the European Parliament.

As Europeyska Pravda writes, she said this at a party conference in the city of Pescara, Reuters reports.

Meloni's surname will be the first on the ballots of the ruling party "Brothers of Italy" in all five Italian constituencies in the European elections.

The Italian Prime Minister will try to increase the support of his party, however, as the agency notes, if elected, it will not take a seat in the European Parliament.

"We want to do in Europe what we did in Italy… create a majority that will unite the center-right forces and send the left into opposition," Meloni said.

She promised that she would not use "a single minute" of her tenure as prime minister for the election campaign.

According to the latest polls, her party is the most popular in Italy with 27% support.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the participation of three ministers of his government from the "Civil Coalition" party in the June elections to the European Parliament, which he called one of the most important in a decade.
