Representatives of the Czech Republic found 800,000 155 mm and 122 mm artillery shells in third countries. They can go to Ukraine "in the coming weeks". This statement was made by Czech President Petr Pavel at the Munich Conference on Saturday, February 17.
"Currently, we have found half a million 155-caliber projectiles, another 300,000 122-caliber projectiles, which we will be able to deliver within a few weeks if we quickly find financing," said Petr Pavel.
Pavel specified that the Czech Republic is supported in this activity by Denmark, the Netherlands and Canada. They also turned to partners from the USA, Germany, Sweden and other countries who will be able to contribute to these efforts.
The President of the Czech Republic added that the Czech Republic is currently searching for weapons and equipment around the world, and is also working with NATO partners in this direction.
"The goal of this activity is to maximally strengthen the Ukrainian defense so that they preserve their human resources, cause as much exhaustion as possible to the Russian forces, and that they (Ukrainians – ed.) maintain the positions they have now," the Czech president summarized.
We will remind you that at the beginning of May 2023, the Council of the EU approved the decision on the supply of shells and missiles to Ukraine. It was planned that European countries would provide Ukraine with 1 million shells by March 2024.
