"Some countries should immediately stop adding fuel to the fire and not undermine the diplomatic efforts of the international community," the Chinese diplomat said.

The Chinese side's statement came amid reports that Kremlin representatives are interested in a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

China's representative at the UN assures that the Minsk agreement reached in 2014 should be followed.

"Unfortunately, most of the provisions of the agreement have not yet been implemented, and large-scale hostilities broke out later," Zhang Jun added.

According to him, the security of one country should not be ensured at the expense of other countries, and regional security cannot be guaranteed by strengthening or even expanding military groups.

The Chinese diplomat also called on NATO to "stop the threats."

"NATO should adhere to dialogue and consultation in resolving disputes and the common direction of political settlement, instead of pressure, slander and unilateral sanctions, not to mention the use of force," Zhang Jun said.
