The government of Kazakhstan allocates more than 25 million dollars to compensate business losses after the floods

by .The government of Kazakhstan has adopted a resolution to allocate 12 billion tenge (25.5 million US dollars) to compensate for material losses of businesses after large-scale floods.
So far, regional commissions have reviewed and approved 178 applications from small and medium-sized businesses worth 1.5 billion tenge (3.2 million US dollars).
According to the preliminary assessment of akimats (local administrations), 746 small and medium-sized businesses, including grocery stores, cafes, service stations, hotels, etc., were affected by the flood.
The government carries out comprehensive work to eliminate the consequences of floods by providing citizens with new housing, paying one-time financial assistance, compensating the costs of repairing and restoring houses, etc.
In West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Atyrau, Aktobe, Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, construction of 2.5 thousand new houses for the victims has started .
About 33,321 families received a one-time payment of 369,200 tenge ($800) each.
